Microsoft Hosted Exchange:
General Information:

Mailboxes - Basic vs Standard:

Standard mailboxes are Micron21's premium hosted exchange product. They have 50GB of storage and can be accessed via every common mail method - Activesync, MAPI, POP, IMAP, and OWA (Outlook Web Access). Basic mailboxes, on the other hand, have only 2GB of storage and can only be accessed by OWA (Outlook Web Access), POP and IMAP - thus are more suited for limited to moderate email users.

Support Options:

24/7 Support:

All customers have access to our basic round the clock support. This covers full management and support of Micron21's infrastructure (power, cooling, networks, hardware and hypervisors); initial fault investigation; account related enquiries; and "how to" guidance. Aside from critical infrastructure issues, there is generally a 24 hour turn around on requests. This support level covers the basics to ensure customers have full access to the base service provided. While Micron21 may assist to provide an initial installation of software, for instance, cPanel, WordPress or Linux and Windows, the service is provided as is, and is not supported or maintained by Micron21. It is intended that for this support level, customers can self service and manage their environment. Micron21 will continue to support and maintain anything below the operating system. Customers requiring additional assistance, ongoing support, or to use Micron21 to complement their IT needs, are encouraged to purchase one of our customer care plans that best suits their requirements.

Customer Care Plans:

There are 3 key customer care plans available to purchase with any Micron21 service: Essentials, Management and Comprehensive. Each customer care plan comes with a number of hours that a customer can utilise each and every month. Unused hours do not carry over and these hours can only be used for the platform they were purchased for (e.g. Cloud Web Hosting, VPS/VCS or Colocation). For example, a customer with a Shared Cloud Web Hosting service and a VMware Cloud Server (VCS) would require two plans if each service needed support. If a customer had two VCS services, then the one plan will suffice, provided the customer does not go over their allocated hours. Generally, Micron21 would recommend one plan per service to ensure there is enough coverage. Excess hours will require the purchase of another plan to cover an additional block of hours. Micron21 does understand that some months can require a bit more hours and others a bit less. Micron21 is quite flexible in these situations, as long as there is fair use and the total hours are not exceeded across a 12 month period. All plans require a minimum 12 month commitment. For a full list of our plans and what they cover, please refer to our Customer Care Plans webpage.

Total Care:

This is Micron21's ultimate customer care package and provides support and proactive management for EVERY service a customer has with Micron21. It is effectively a comprehensive customer care plan for each and every service. It provides you with 10 hours of support per month which comes with unified monthly reporting; scheduled maintenance windows (that you can select); and proactive management of any issues regarding your service. This package gives you the additional benefit of a dedicated Account Manager along with direct access to senior Technical Support Analysts and Security & Network Engineers.

Hostname:

Account name or domain. This is the name of your account, and typically it is the same as your domain name.

Colocation:
General Settings:

Colocation - Bundle or Custom plans?

Micron21 provide the option to have small bundles to suit single devices, which is from 1 rack unit in size up to 4 rack units in size. If a bundle doesn’t suit, we provide the option to select how many rack units you require for your deployment. Block data is only available for our bundles, other bandwidth must be selected for custom plans.

How many rack units is your device?

Rack unit is the measurement of height for rack-mountable devices. If you have up to a 4 rack unit height device, it will be compatible with our bundles – otherwise, you may require a custom plan.

How many rack units do you require?

Rack unit is the measurement of height for rack-mountable devices. If you have a 1 or 2 rack unit height device, it will be compatible with our bundles – otherwise, you may require a custom plan.

Extras and Add-ons:
Bandwidth:

Data Block:

Provides cost effective IP transit speed limited to 100mbit, available in blocks of  “per GB” allocation for your service.  If you require more bandwidth or faster network performance greater than 100mbit, then choose either "95th Percentile" or "Unmetered" data options.

95th Percentile:

Is an ISP based billing model used to provide flexible data capacity to customers. Instead of providing usage based plans, these plans are based on the speed you require, with the ability to use 10x more speed at a premium price on demand if required. As such, 95th Percentile is ideal for customers who have large data requirements and periods of extremely high demand and require greater than 100mbit of speed.

Unmetered:

Provides you with unmetered data usage for your Virtual Cloud Server (VCS) based on the speed of the connection we provide you in Megabit (Mb) - whilst your maximum speed is capped at the speed you select and all data is unmetered. Unmetered plans can be very cost effective for customers with massive data requirements at a predictable constant speed.

Licences:

Operating System:

Linux – Micron21 supports any Linux operating system either 32bit or 64bit.  If you require a specific operating system, we most certainly can provide it for you.

Windows – Micron21 supports every Microsoft Server operating system.  Our default option is always to provide you with the latest version, so if you require an older operating system, please let us know.

cPanel Licence:

With a cPanel/WHM licence you can instantly turn your server into a webhosting platform for your customers. cPanel/WHM provides you the platform to easily host multiple domains for customers in a secure easy-to-use management environment.

Cloud Linux:

Used typically in conjunction with cPanel/WHM, Cloud Linux allows you to allocate specific resources from your cloud server directly to your customers, making sure no single customer can consume the entire capacity of your server, which could result in your server crashing or becoming overloaded.  We consider Cloud Linux as a "must have" for any web hosting environment which is hosting services for multiple domains.

LiteSpeed:

A LiteSpeed licence provides webserver acceleration for popular CMS platforms such as WordPress and Magneto; and code-based websites such as PHP by operating a more streamline webserver which completely replaces Apache. Using LiteSpeed caching and modern webserver technology, a LiteSpeed licence can dramatically increase how fast a site loads, as well as support more concurrent connections.

Backup Options:

No Backups:

If no backups are selected, you agree that you are entirely responsible for your data integrity within your Virtual Cloud Server (VCS). Micron21 will not keep any form of backup data for you. This means, in the event of a disaster such as hardware failure or data corruption within any segment of Micron21 infrastructure, all data on your virtual service could be lost. With no way to recover lost data, restoring from such an event is impossible and customers with no backup options will be provided a fresh blank virtual cloud service within 24 hours or less. It is for this reason that Micron21 highly recommends that if you cannot maintain your own off-site backup service, then you should purchase a suitable backup option from Micron21.

Backup Service:

Our backup space is provided as off server storage configured on a dedicated isolated internal network where you can store any files you wish. This storage capacity is provided by default as either FTP or SMB storage, unless a Veeam or Acronis Licence is selected.

FTP Storage:

Provides access to your backup storage capacity via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Typically, this storage is used for Linux Servers or a cPanel environment.

NFS:

Provides access to your backup storage capacity via NFS (Network File System). Typically, this storage is used for Windows Servers.

Veeam:

A Veeam licence provides you complete image backups of your entire virtual machine, including operating system, all files and databases. The number of provided retention restore points is dependent on the amount of storage selected. At a minimum we recommend twice the amount of primary storage as backup storage capacity.

Acronis:

An Acronis licence is a specific backup licence designed to typically integrate with cPanel. Acronis provides account based incremental backups and allows cPanel accounts to self-service both backup and restore functions.

Two Factory Authentication (2FA) Access Token:

If you would like the ability to power on, power off, reboot, access the console of your server, re-install or install a new operating system or snapshot your Virtual Cloud Server (VCS) before system upgrades, you will need a Micron21 2FA Access Token.  This item is a once off purchase to securely connect into our cloud management platform.
