Overview:
Creating new databases, and database users, and assigning them in cPanel allows for proper storage, organisation, and access control of website data for security and management purposes.
Creating a new database:
Log in to your cPanel account.
In the "Databases" section, navigate to the "MySQL Databases" tool.
Under the "Create New Database" area, enter a name for the new database in the "New Database" field.
Click on the "Create Database" button.
The new database will now be listed in the "Current Databases" section.
Creating a new database user:
Log in to your cPanel account.
In the "Databases" section, navigate to the "MySQL Databases" tool.
Scroll down to the "MySQL users" section, then "Add New User" section.
Enter a username and password for the new user in the "Username" and "Password" fields.
Click on the "Create User" button.
The new user will now be listed in the "Current Users" section.
It's important to note that you should choose a unique name for your database, and a strong and unique password for your user.
Assigning the user to the database:
Log in to your cPanel account.
In the "Databases" section, click on the "MySQL Databases" icon.
Scroll down to the "Add User to Database" section.
Select the user you want to add to the database, from the "User" drop-down menu.
Select the database that you want the user to be added to, from the "Database" drop-down menu.
Click on the "Add" button.
Select the privilege level for the user by checking the required boxes.
Click on the "Make Changes" button to assign the user to the database.
